Help Your Student Find Their Wings
Congratulations on having a son or daughter just one year away from graduating from high school! We appreciate that you are your child's number one support system and can't wait to work with you both as you transition to the next phase of life. The Phoenix Scholars provides high-quality services for high school seniors in the college application process. Our mentors have the training, expertise, and experience necessary to connect with your child during this important time in his or her life, especially since the overwhelming majority of them come from similar low-income or first-generation backgrounds. If your child is motivated and driven to get to college and succeed, The Phoenix Scholars provides the resources necessary for your child to reach his or her full potential. Interested students should apply in the spring of their junior year.

Our program is 100% free of charge
None of our programs will cost you any money. Our mentors are volunteers who give their time because they care about helping others. Although private college counseling can cost thousands of dollars, our mission is to make these resources available to all. We strive to empower
The Phoenix Scholars' mentors are trained to raise their mentees up, expand their horizons, and promote their ambition. Although there will be disappointments and rejection along the way, we will encourage your kids to reach for the stars. Since all of The Phoenix Scholars' mentors are undergraduates, they are just a few years older than high school students. We remember and understand what it's like to balance college applications with senior year and school, and that's part of what makes the process work well. |
You can afford college - we can help
College is expensive, but we help students apply for scholarships, find financial aid, and make smart financial decisions. Our mentors are trained to focus on financial plans from the start of the process. We value drive over academic perfection
Students must meet two of these three criteria to be considered for the program: 1) First-generation (neither parent attended college) 2) Low-income (qualifies for free or reduced lunch) or 3) Underrepresented minority. Applicants are not required to show immigration status (The Phoenix Scholars provides resources to undocumented youth). TPS is meant for students who want to attend college, but can be at any range of our GPA and test score spectrum. |
