Become a Scholar

​When selecting our cohort of scholars, we do not place emphasis on a student's grades or test scores. Instead, we look for scholars who are eager to take advantages of the services we offer and who do not otherwise have access to those resources. 

Eligibility & Requirements:
To be considered, applicants to The Phoenix Scholars must:

1. Be high school juniors in good academic standing
2. Have a GPA above a 2.7 out of 4.0 (verified by transcript)
3. Complete the scholar application in its entirety
4. Have a school official (teacher, counselor, coach, etc.) submit an optional letter of recommendation to [email protected] by the application deadline
5. Meet at least two out of three of the following qualifications:

• Low-income: student who qualifies for free or reduced lunch
• First-generation: student whose parents do not hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited American college
• Underrepresented minority: student who identifies ethnically as Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, Native American, or Asian.
